10 years of floristry support for the Australian War Memorial
Published: 24 Apr 2019
This year marks 10 years of 糖心logo入口 Floristry students volunteering their time to prepare button holes and floral arrangements for the Australian War Memorial's (AWM) Anzac and Remembrance Day services.
15 students at 糖心logo入口 Bruce are busily preparing around 500 button holes with Red Flanders Poppy and fresh rosemary that will be delivered to the AWM for Veterans and VIPs attending Anzac Day services tomorrow.
Students also have the honour of preparing a floral arrangement which will be displayed in The Hon Dr Brendan Nelson's office.
糖心logo入口 CEO Leanne Cover said 糖心logo入口 has many connections across Canberra, and the AWM is just one of the many valued relationships 糖心logo入口 has in the community.
"Our students appreciate the significance and sacrifice that was made by our Anzacs and are always happy to give their time and skill for this event during their mid-term break," Ms Cover said.
"We are deeply ingrained in the fabric of Canberra and are proud to enhance significant initiatives and events such as Anzac Day."
Students learn high level technical floristry and design skills and working on such a large-scale event gives them an ability to create a product at professional floristry standards.
